About

My upbringing in South Florida— surrounded by family, fruit trees, and sunshine— has had a tremendous influence on my creative work. At the University of Miami, I studied Community Psychology, received minors in Art and Architecture, and was introduced to glassblowing. I am interested in public art, home design, and the intersection of handmade craft and architecture. I am eager to work with designers and makers who value the importance craft has on the built environment.

What makes home feel like home?

To me, grandmothers, fruit, and nature. But most importantly, handmade craft is central to my idea of home. Raised by skilled female makers who cultivate warm, inviting spaces, I find myself constantly inspired by the work my grandmothers put in as home curators. The choice of fabric that was cut and sewn into curtains, the many strings of beads attached to those curtains, the hand stitched ornaments for every single holiday, the bright yellow patio littered with colorful chairs, the handmade pillows and rugs, the quilts and crochet blankets, the olive green fringe toilet lid cover (that one always makes me laugh), the ceramic plates from Mexico that decorate the kitchen walls, the woven bench at the front door. For me, it’s those little details that stitch together a home.
